Depop Shipping Calculator: label cost vs shipping it yourself

Shipping is where Depop profit quietly disappears. This calculator separates the shipping you charge the buyer from what you actually pay, so you can see the fee impact and the real profit either way. Rates verified 2026-10-05.

How to use this page

  1. Run it with the Depop label cost and tick “I used a Depop Shipping label”.
  2. Run it again with your own postage cost and untick that box.
  3. Compare the profit line. The label usually wins on tracked, protected parcels.

Depop shipping questions

Does shipping charged to the buyer increase my Depop fees?
It depends on the fee. Payment processing is charged on the item price plus shipping plus applicable taxes, so shipping does raise processing. The 10% selling fee and the boost fee exclude shipping when you use a Depop Shipping label, but include it when you ship on your own.
Is a Depop Shipping label cheaper than my own postage?
Use the calculator twice — once with the label cost and once with your own postage — and compare profit. Depop labels bundle tracking and protection, which often matters more than a small price difference on low-value items.
Why does the calculator ask for shipping separately from the sale price?
Because Depop charges different fees on different bases. Keeping the two numbers apart is the only way to see the real fee impact instead of an average.
